I wnat to give a shout out to Shanna, Katy, Kristian, Ryan, the Interns and the amazing team of volunteers that made Easter Eggstravaganza and Easter Sunday Services so incredible. A job well done.
Hello Staff of TRC,
As my son, his friend, and I left the egg hunt at Lake Tye, we saw all your balloons...we were drawn to check it out! I was a bit hesitant, as my son's friend, Connor has never been to a church...not sure how he would react (nor his parents!).
We were greeted by such friendly parking guys - put me at ease immediantly. Then the boys went from craft to craft, laughing and interacting with the other kids. The staff at these tables were so kind to the boys - thank you!
The boys were awe struck by the friendly animals, the cool game tables, the huge prizes, the great food...so much fun and enjoyment together as friends.
I wanted to let you know my son's response to the egg hunt: "Gee, Mom, the Lake Tye hunt only had one candy in each of the eggs...this place gave four!!" Yes, we both noticed how generous your church is, especially compared to the community event. Yeah, it is only candy, but the principle that Christians are generous really hit home with him...when his friend did not find as many eggs as he did, he immediantly offered some of his. He said, "Conner, I have plenty, have some of mine." So your generousity has touched at the heart of things today...thank you so much!
Conner's comment was, "Church isn't so bad, I like it!" Thank you for a first great impression of God and His people!
You have been a blessing to our family today - thank you so very much! Barbara
On July 19th, Mike Wallace was killed in a vehicle accident. He was doing what he loved so much. He was riding his Harley Davidson with some close friends when a car was rear ended and pushed across the center line into him. About 40 minutes after the accident I received a phone call and headed to the scene. As I called Pastor Jeff and Melinda to give them the news I was having flashbacks of 2000 when I called them regarding the plane crash…. I think Pastor Melinda is going to start blocking my phone number.
If I could sum up Mike Wallace in one word it would be “Faithful.” I have found in life that there are very few people that I would trust my life too. Mike was the kind of guy that would give his life for yours without hesitation. In Ruth 1.16-17, Ruth makes a statement to Naomi, that to me is the definition of faithful and the definition of Mike. She says, “Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried. The LORD do so to me, and more also, If anything but death parts you and me.”
Thank you Mike for the years of service in our youth ministry and the church, for showing up when others didn’t, for giving your life to the work of the ministry, but most of all for being man enough to know you needed God and even more of a man for being obedient to Him. Your obedience touched the hearts of many and altered the lives of those around you. You are loved and missed.
With your shield or on it.
God has been doing some amazing things particularly in the purchase of your church building. We have been in a building campaign for the past several years and it has all come down to the last couple of weeks. We have been approved for our financing, which in today’s market is a miracle, one in a million according to our banker. God has been faithfully putting pieces into place for some time now and it has culminated in the raising of 197K dollars to close. As of Tuesday the 29th we were short 11K to reach our goal. While in a meeting on Tuesday night we watched God bring in 20K in hand or in pledges to surpass our goal. God does more than enough. We sign the papers this week. God is sooooooo good!!! Thank you to everyone who has given and pledged to give. I pray an over abundant blessing upon the seed you have sown and a speedy harvest. I am excited to hear the stories of what God has done in your lives for your obedience.
The team did awesome this weekend. My hat is off to the staff and volunteers they did a fantastic job. Here are some quotes I wrote down:
Growth is what happens when God blesses hard work
Buzz happens when people’s lives are changed
Personal invitation is why 75%-80% of people go to church for the first time
If you try to reach everyone you have to embrace mediocrity
Where I know that I need to be stretched I need to exercise discipline
Bad leaders take simple ideas and make them complex, good leaders take complex ideas and make them simple
Build from the word of God and to the word of God
Margin - a little more then what is needed
I want to spend the rest of my life leading people to Christ
Don’t go out and buy a race car, but do that which recharges your batteries
Do you know how to make a small fortune in racing? Start with a large one

Tomorrow is Fuel!!!! On the 4th Wednesday of each month we have a service called Fuel. It is a great opportunity for parents to be a part of a service with their young person. For so long young people went to church with their parents. Now it is time for parents to go to church with their young person. While growing up I remember walking into my Dads room, early in the morning, and seeing him praying, or in the evenings seeing him sit at the dining room table reading his bible. As parent, one of the most powerful ways for us to impact our children is for them to see us experiencing God. As a parent I would encourage you to make Fuel a priority.
God has been doing some incredible things at TRC. We are in the process of negotiating the purchase of our building. Recently I received a call from Bank of America and they are in the process of delivering to us a letter of intent. This is a big deal!!!! I encourage you to pray for a couple of things. First, pray for continued favor with the bank and the negotiations. Second, pray for the church and those that are involved in T3, that God would continue to bless us as we pour out. Third, pray that the finances needed to secure the loan would continue to pour in above and beyond what is needed (we serve a God of more than enough). Fourth, pray that the vision of God and this house would continue to be lit in the hearts of others and that they too would get on board with this God sized vision.
The importance of purchasing our building is huge. Take a moment to think about the car or house payment you make each month. How much more could you do if those payments were less or non existent? In the same manner when we are purchasing our building vs. leasing it, we will decrease our monthly expense significantly, which would allow us to direct those dollars to ministry. Quite frankly this equates to more lives being impacted for the Kingdom of God.
If you are not involved in T3, take a minute to ask God how you can get involved with His vision for TRC. Personally, the house I live in today is a direct blessing from my wife’s and my obedience to what God called us to sow into the building… about 4 years ago God asked us to sow a $10,000 seed in the form of a car that we owned… about 2 months after we sold the car and wrote the check the land our house is currently built on was given to us free and clear… What blessing does God have in store for you that your obedience will release? Trust God, believe Him at His word. He makes us prosperous for the purpose of extending His Kingdom.
Pastor Linda used to say, “Everything is birthed out of the house of prayer!” This last week we started to amp up our AM prayer at the church with Pastor Jeff and the TRC staff. We have been meeting at 6.30am on Tuesdays and 8am Wednesday - Friday. It has been an incredible time of prayer for our church, our business leaders and the people who call TRC their home. I encourage you to make time to be apart and pray with us. Even if you can only stay for a few minutes, it is the best way to start your morning. I will see you there.
This last weeked we had our Mitosis Conference with guest speaker John Bevere. It was an incredible weekend. My hat is tipped to all of our fantastic volunteers. It was amazing to see them working and serving. From the parking team and the new volunteers that stepped up to help, to our interns who did a great job with the children and served their tails off with a smile. To the kitchen team, the clean up team, the Greeters and the Ushers…THANK YOU!
We opened the conference with the comedian Leland Klassen (www.lelandklassen.com) who brought the house down. He was absolutely hysterical.
John Bevere shared two incredible words around the topic Driven by Eternity. Here are some thoughts that touched my life.
1) Are we living for the eternal or the temporal?
a. How we live equals how we will spend eternity
b. Have an eternal perspective
c. This life is a dressing room for eternity
2) Our to do list in life, is good works
a. Eph. 2.10
3) We will be judged in the light of, did we complete what God called us to do.
a. John used and powerful illustration of a man who was a pastor that stood before God at the Judgment seat. And when the man gave an account of how he was a pastor and lead a church of 250 people, Gods response was, I called you to be an accountant and if you would have been obedient you would have reached 1,600,982 souls for My Kingdom.
4) The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom
a. Our decision making process should be rooted in the fear of the Lord. Do not fear man who can merely hurt your physical body, but fear God who governs eternity.
5) We are the subcontractors that are building Gods house. If we don’t do our job God will find someone else to do it, His house will be built!
6) God loves us no matter what, however we are responsible if He is pleased with us or not.
7) The knowledge of God gives us the ability to multiply
8) Grace is Gods empowering presence that gives us the power to do
9) It takes our obedience in conjunction with the gifts God has given us to receive the Masters desired reward
10) Many times we are trying to understand Godly principles with a democratic mindset.
